On October 4th and 5th 2014 the Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora hosted the 6th Survival race, the biggest of adventure races in Serbia. The race was organized in collaboration with “Wild Serbia” and the Tourist Organization of the city of Uzice. 240 competitors divided in 80 competing teams from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the event. There were four categories: Survival, Adventure, Family and Media Survival. The start and finish line of the race were in front of the National ecological centre and the hotel “Čarobni breg”.

During the month of august the management of the Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora” organized a photo safari. The participants of the safari were professional photographers from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and F.Y.R.O. Macedonia. This three-day event resulted in numerous photos showing exceptional beauty of the landscape of the Park.

The Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora” hosted on July 26th and 27th 2014 the bicycle race in two disciplines, i.e. “XC” (Cross-country) and “DH” (downhill).

Particularly attractive was the Downhill race which requires the participants to ride at high speed down a very demanding and technically difficult steep path, to perform high jumps and avoid obstacles such as tree roots and stones. This race, therefore, counts as extreme sporting event, very popular abroad, especially in greater ski resorts, while having only its initial steps here in Serbia.

Logistical support of the Bicycle club “Full control bike” as well as tour guide association “Kapedunum”, the organizers of the race, was the management of the Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora”.

The National ecological centre of the Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora” hosted a presentation on June 25th 2014 called “IQ technology  - early detection of forest fires for protected areas of national interest”.

The project was presented by Dipl. Ing. Holger Vogel, Managing director of the “IQ Wireless GmbH”, a company which has been successfully implementing the methodology of early detection of forest and bush fires worldwide. The Minister of agriculture and environmental protection Mrs. Snezana Bogosavljevic – Boskovic Ph. D., Slobodan Erdeljan, Assistant to the Minister of agriculture and environmental protection,  Goran Nikolic, assistant of the Chief of emergency situation sector, Lidija Amdžic Ph.D.  Managing Director of the Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora” ltd. as well as other managers of the protected areas attended the presentation.

The Minister showed great interest in this important project and agreed to have the Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora” and the National park “Tara” as pilot- areas where the project shall be completed next year with the financial aid of the EU. 

On april 11th 2014 the National ecological centre of the Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora” hosted the celebration of the Nature conservation day. Co-organizing the celebration was the Institute for nature conservation of Serbia who signed the new cooperation agreement with the Institute for Protection of cultural-historical and natural heritage of Republic of Srpska from Banja Luka.

The participants were greeted by ph.d. Srđan Belij, state secretary in the Ministry of Natural resources, Mining and Spatial planning, Leposava Sojević, assistant of minister in the  Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental protection, Aleksandar Dragišić, director of the Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia and Lidija Amidžić, director of the Nature park “Šargan – Mokra Gora” who presented natural and artificial features of the Park as well as its  development projects.

Dragana Ostojić from the Institute for Nature conservation of Serbia spoke on subject “MAB Programme in Serbia – future biosphere reserve Drina”, while Nikola Stojnić from the Provincial institute for Nature protection of Vojvodina, presented the eco-campaign “Stop poisoning the predator birds”.
